We all love treats and sweets and we want to be able to enjoy something sweet from time to time. We also know that our bodies run better the more nutrients we put into them right? So why not try to pack our treats full of nutrients?! It's a win-win!
I've given myself the task of trying to sneak at least one of these super foods into my baking/cooking. This week I focused on using collagen. There's a recipe for
Who doesn't like peanut butter cups??
How about homemade “sneaky collagen” PB cups. Yes please!

I ordered a new protein in last week and have already gone all the way through this one and ended up ordering 3 more containers! Going to try the chocolate brownie too. I get mine with stevia to steer clear of sucralose.
Speaking of sucralose, ..it's hidden in May things, protein powder, gum. Be sure you're checking labels.
Interesting read on sugar and artificial sweeteners I found a few days ago …
It's a short article but definitely worth reading. There are SO many products with sucralose, aspartame, and high fructose corn syrup. Who knew Agave isn't a good sugar alternative after all?
Back to my recipe…. One of the most fun things about this brand is that is “fluff” or make “protein fluff” they call it!!! Sort of in between ice cream consistency and a milkshake. But it's low calorie, low fat, high protein. Of course you can add whatever you want to bump up certain macros. Add fruit, add almond butter, nuts, any other toppings!
Here's the base recipe I use. (They call for water in their i like to use unsweetened cashew milk for creaminess)
Use a high speed blender and blend to fluffy protein perfection!!
Stay tuned for more ice cream recipes to come next week!!!
So I wanted to make something colorful and yummy that my kids would actually sit down and dig into after a long day at summer camp (a half day is very long for them). I've come across some recipes for a more healthy “cookie dough” so decided to make Unicorn cookie dough… (can be sugar free, no dairy, paleo friendly, no artificial colors) I have these great India Tree food dyes made from vegetable and fruits for color. Nothing artificial. I'm thinking of investing in a larger set with a wider variety of colors. My unicorn dough looks a little drab. But it's yummy!!!

You can also use collagen in a smoothie. Use it as your protein instead of protein powder. Or use half of your protein and half collagen.
I like to use it in my post workout shake. Along with fresh ginger, small serving of frozen berries, spinach or power greens, cashew milk, and cinnamon. These ingredients help with recovery and prevent inflammation.
