Good Morning! I have so much to post, but I'll try to sum everything up nicely :)
First of all I have decided the May 13th OCB Pro Bodybuilding show is a GO!!! so I will be starting prep this week and would love to have you follow me through my journey!!! It's about 11 weeks away.
Second, I have decided to take my cake and cookie business a bit more seriously and am going to invest in some better equipment and renovate and decorate my cake workshop. I'm very excited about my little project!! I know, bodybuilding and cakes are 2 opposite ends of the spectrum, but we ARE tying to find balance right??!
Mitchell has become one of my best friends, He somehow continues to be funny and charming even when you're being pushed to the limits during a hard workout!! My body has changed so much in the past year and a half. I honestly never thought my body shape could be sculpted into anything like it has been!! Since I could go on and on... I'll end with saying he's a wonderful person, one of my great friends and the best trainer I know!
The past few weeks, Mitchell has had me working on strengths, doing some heavy lifts with smaller rep sets since we knew I would start my prep this week, stay tuned to see what this week brings in the gym and some pics from 11 weeks out!
During Prep I need to stick to my macros exactly and weigh and measure out my food, it becomes a bit more strict as the weeks go on, but to stay ahead of the game I try to start out following all of the rules. I have an amazing Nutrition coach, she has become a good friend over the past year! I love the way she thinks about food and how to use it to fuel the body with all of the nutrients you need! You can check her out at www.trainwithrebekah.com.
For contest prep you really have to plan ahead as far as food. For me, that means portioning out some things.
Have I told you guys about my Nut-Butter addiction? I love peanut, almond, cashew... any type of nut butter. During the off-season, I eat WAYYY too much. I'm guilty of standing with a spoon and a jar and getting a bit carried away. Though, during contest prep every calorie and gram of nutrients matters, so yesterday I was inspired to make homemade pistachio butter after seeing a Dr. Oz episode talking about the health benefits of Pistachios.
I haven't gotten my weekly meal prep done yet after being busy with the kids in the beautiful weather we've had this week. My husband did grill a few pounds of chicken for me.
I will share an hour from last week when I was inspired to clean out my produce drawer!!! See below for what I started with...
I like to make a "sweet potato crust" for my frittatas.
I used this recipe (but you can sub whatever veggies you have and even add extra proteins or cheese if you want!!)
I used some of the veggies for fajitas and then yesterday I pulled everything out and let my kids dip them in hummus..
Sorry to jump topic but I HAVE to show you the cakes and cookies I've done over the past few weeks.
